“You promised you would be at the board meeting.”
“I will be at the board meeting.”
“It ended an hour ago.”
“Really? How’d you get here so fast?”
“How come you have this ridiculous suit that gets you across the state in the blink of an eye, but you can’t make even the slightest appearance to a board meeting downtown?”
“Dodging my question with a question, I see.”
Pepper huffs, causing a few loose curlicues of hair to lift upwards slightly. He loves when her hair is curled.
Tony lowers his head slightly, holding her eyes. “Sorry.”
“Really.”
“Nope.”
