Nights that pass by slowly
Days that ask too much of me
Wish I could slip quietly
Away from this endless reverie
The sempiternal aftermath of what became of us
Falls on me with a crash, refusing to let up
Nights that fly too quickly
Days that ask just for nothing
Morning forecast, stormy
Clouds that seem to follow me
The never-ceasing aftermath of what became of us
The heavy weight it seems to cast upon my weakening bust
Stays on me as I collapse, unable to stay up
This unrelenting aftermath of what became of us
Of what became of me
Glaring sun sets quietly
Calling forth another dream
I curse what is now me
Can’t slip from this endless reverie
The sempiternal aftermath has left me on the walk
When I open my mouth to gasp I can’t so much as puff
The heavy weight it seems to cast upon my useless nub
Of a heart that’s content to relapse into our languid love
Days that ask too much of me
Wish I could slip quietly
Away from this endless reverie
The sempiternal aftermath of what became of us
Falls on me with a crash, refusing to let up
Nights that fly too quickly
Days that ask just for nothing
