Watching the sun break through the cotton candied sky
And light up the rippling waters flowing Tide is high
Enough for me to watch the beautiful fish glide by
Slicing like a knife does through softened butter
The rays of light hit the water absolutely perfectly so,
Reminiscent of beautiful curtains that billow.
I push my feet into the wet sand and wiggle my toes,
Molding like my heart does within your fingers
Lover, my most peaceful thoughts are of you.
And, Lover, I dream of such beautiful things we could do.
My Lover, I know you feel the same as I do.
The sun begins to drift below the pinking clouds
I lift my hand to shield my eyes from the glowing horizon abound
The ocean paints a beautiful tie-dyed account
Of a love so vast trying to compensate for the distance
Lover, I’m calling across the ocean to you,
And, Lover, I hope that “that day” will come so very soon.
My Lover, I know you feel the same as I do.
Lover, I miss you.
The darkened skies remind me of my hazy gloom
The icy salt water brings my mind back to
The saltiness that rolls down my cheek is not from the Big Blue
But the twinkling diamonds in the sky
Ensure a hope that lifts me high
So that my love might soar tonight
And reach you at your coastal line
Lover, I miss you.
Lover, come home soon.
